It’s that time of the week again, welcome to this week’s issue off JAMARAZ WEEKLY.

It’s been a VERY busy week here at RJHQ, I’ve released a new album, record tons of new music, launched digital downloads on my store, AND filmed a ton of videos.

Let’s dive in… SPLASH (that’s us diving in)

My New Album – Listen Here >

Now, I’m sure most of you have already listened to it by now, but I thought it’s worth talking about it just in case there’s any stragglers out there!

‘Nowhere Like Always’ by Glinter 13th full-length album I think, and the 5th one as part of the Jamaraz Music Universe.

More than that though, I think it’s a really important album for me personally, and it’s like a time capsule of all the things I was going through and feeling at the end of last year.

And to be honest, I never intended to write this album, but it just kinda happened, and it’s ended up giving me a ton of closure for things that I couldn’t have gotten otherwise…

I’m glad you guys can hear that through the music, and I’m very grateful for all the kind words about the album so far :-) It’s no ‘Worst Album Ever’, but it’s 100% honest and still 100% me.

Last Friday, I officially released digital downloads of music from the JMU on my merch store, so if you fancy supporting the art directly, buying a digital copy of the album you can OWN is quite possibly the best way to do that :-)

Don’t worry… PHYSICAL COPIES OF THE GLINTER ALBUM COMING SOON ;-)

Here’s A Free Song I Made, Enjoy – Listen Here >

Not sure if you remember, but last week I promised I’d give a song I wrote called “I Met You 13 Years Ago”. So here I am delivering that promise.

Honestly? I’m not actually massive on it, and in the last week I’ve written/recorded some other songs that I’m much more pleased with, but whatever.

Some awesome supporters of mine on Patreon called it “really beautiful” and “absolutely gorgeous” though, so it’s worth sharing I think.

But yeah, on Sunday I went to record drums for a new batch of Sweat Glass Halo demos, and one of the songs I finished is called ‘I’m Not A Drum Machine’ AND IT’S SO GOOD.

Like, I-listened-to-this-30-seperate-times-on-Monday good.

I’ll be sharing this demo recording on my Patreon later today, so consider joining if you wanna be in on all the latest music from me :-)

Other Stuff

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen a few videos of me dressed in a brown wig with a fake soul-patch taped to my chin miming guitar and vocals for some Glinter songs.

The character depicted in these videos is called Pete Wicker, and he’s the lead singer / guitarist of the fictional band Glinter, a project under which I released that new album under.

In the last week I ended up filming a truck load of these silly little videos with the help of my friend Sam and my girlfriend Mimi, just as an attempt to promote the music a bit more and push it out to some new fans! Hopefully!!!

I’d just like to share with you how methodical I’ve been with the process though. I took 3 different Glinter songs, and 3 different locations (a field, my bedroom & my studio), then assigned these songs so that every song was in 2 locations.

Then, for each song, I picked the same 3 sections of the song to film (maybe a specific verse or a chorus), and basically that means I could compare all the videos to see what combination of location / song / song section works the best.

Then I can just learn from that and do better next time. And I get to have fun plotting it all out in a lovely spreadsheet.

Nerdy but cool if you ask me!

So yeah, if you happen to see one of these Pete Wicker shorts come up, do us a favour and watch it through and leave a comment just to help push it out there a bit ;-)

The world needs to hear Glinter!!!!!!

Anyway…

Thanks for reading , it means a lot!

For the next week, I’m just going to have a bit of a quieter, less busy week. Nothing big is going on so I’ll just be tootling away making music or a new YouTube video or something.

Feel free to reply to this and let me know if you’ve got anything interesting happening this week! Or just say hi… I enjoy reading your emails and it gives me something to do in my Psychology class.

All the best,

RJ

p.s. I have a playlist on my phone full of all the current demos for the Sweat Glass Halo album and I quickly whipped up this banger of a cover for it:
