YAY! It worked!

As a little warm-up gift in prep for the SGH Experience, I’ve actually just sent you an email with a bonus track from the new album. It’s a re-recording of my song ‘Meals’, and it’ll be on the CD of ‘It Is What It Is, You Know What I Mean?’ (available soonish?)

Go check it out!

And in case you’re interested, here’s a little rundown of what you can expect to happen:

Phase 1: You sign up for the experience. (Hint: you’ve already done that)

Phase 2: On the day the new album comes out (August 1st), you will receive an email from me, which will have a link to a secret page on my website. On that page (viewable on phones or computers!), there will be some extracts of “archived entries” from frontman Ash Caldaire’s journal, plus other free goodies like demos that literally NO ONE has heard before.

Phase 2 continued: Every day, for 7 days, you’ll get an email with a new webpage full of new lore, demos, and other bits & bobs, which will tell Ash’s story from right after the release of SGH’s debut EP ‘Tot Ziens, Cruel World’ in the Summer of 2004, up until the release of ‘It Is What It Is, You Know What I Mean?’ in Summer 2006.

Phase 3: That’s kinda like it. The story will have a satisfying ending, and hopefully you come out of it feeling like you understand the emotions behind each song on the album a bit more!

Phase 3 continued: Oh yeah, also at the end of all that I’ll be giving you a secret link to a full behind-the-scenes documentary about how I actually recorded the album. Less of a documentary, more like a long vlog.

AND THAT’S THAT!

See ya later :-)

I’m sorry I almost killed your girlfriend (And you)

Remember Rhys, the voice at the end of “NOW! That’s What I Call Closure”? This song is about how I got into a car accident while driving him, his girlfriend, and one of my other best friends Alfie.

I was very embarrassed about the whole ordeal and for a while after was anxious that the 3 of them would talk shit behind my back about it, even though they were partially at fault for distracting me while I was driving. So this song is a mixture embarrassment and a sarcastic flavour of anger.
