Alright, so it’s been about a week since [Sweat Glass Halo] released Tot Ziens [Cruel World, SGH’s debut EP], pretty happy to report that we’ve had a ton of people say they love our sound. I knew they would. Theres no other band going round at the moment like us.

Mr Remon (the lemon) actually emailed me the other day saying he bought a CD [of the EP] from [C-Side Records, record store] and he was thinking of putting a little article about us in the college magazine. If that happens I’ll run away to Taiwan.

If one more person asks me if I’ve heard the new Kick Slimmins remix of Beautiful People [Call Themselves Ugly By Talking, song by SGH], I’m gonna rip my hair out. Yeah I’ve heard it, & I hate it. Can’t figure out how to delete it off my ipod. Kick [Slimmins] ruined it with all those stupid guitars.

What pisses me off is that Jim [Julian, ‘Tot Ziens, Cruel World’ producer] knew I’d say no to the remix, so he didn’t even bother asking me before giving Kick the tracks.

Elliot likes it cos he’s a fanboy. Rhia’s not a fan, but I think that’s just cos they didn’t use any of her drum tracks in the remix. My dad likes it but what does he fuckin know about music. Bianca [Townsman, Ash’s girlfriend] likes it, but her taste is a bit shit.

Some guys at college were all patting my back about it, and one of them even had the cheek to offer to be SGH’s guitarist, to “Fill out your sound”. Almost punched him, but stopped myself.

Early draft of the lyrics to Sweat Glass Halo’s song Hold Tight, Sweet Prince, Oh Buddy, written by Ash Caldaire in late October 2004.

I’m sorry I almost killed your girlfriend (And you)

Remember Rhys, the voice at the end of “NOW! That’s What I Call Closure”? This song is about how I got into a car accident while driving him, his girlfriend, and one of my other best friends Alfie.

I was very embarrassed about the whole ordeal and for a while after was anxious that the 3 of them would talk shit behind my back about it, even though they were partially at fault for distracting me while I was driving. So this song is a mixture embarrassment and a sarcastic flavour of anger.
